In Going Backwards: Prop 23's threat to California jobs, investment, and a clean energy future, CEN’s economic analysis convincingly shows that passage of Prop 23 will jeopardize a half million clean tech jobs, 12,000 companies and billions of dollars of private investment in CA, creating a domino effect that will harm U.S. competitiveness.

Background:
Two oil companies are spending millions to push Proposition 23, a deceptive ballot proposition that will kill AB 32, California’s clean energy and air pollution control standards. California's clean air law holds polluters accountable, requiring them to reduce air pollution that threatens human health and contributes to global climate change.  AB 32 has launched the state to the forefront of clean technology – sparking innovation and creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs. The oil companies’ initiative, Proposition 23, will allow polluters to avoid the state’s clean energy standards, killing competition and jobs.
